Arrowhead Lace Scarf

Arrowhead lace scarf

Requirements

Yarn: Lace weight cashmere-silk yarn from Jade Sapphire (55 gms, 400 yds) or another lace weight yarn. 400 yards is probably way more than you would need.  I probably used around 300 yards for a 5 foot scarf.  You could also use heavier weight yarn and increase the size of the needles.
Needles: Size 3 US

Directions

Cast on 43 stitches loosely. This is where my memory gets bad and my notes are lacking. I think I launched straight into the lace pattern, but I might have knit a single row. No more than that.
Start Pattern: Rows 1 and 3 (WS): Purl.
Row 2 (RS): k2, *(yo, ssk) twice, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1; rep from *; end last repeat with k2.
Row 4 (RS): k3, *yo, ssk, yo, sl2 knitwise, k1, p2sso, yo, k2tog, yo, k3; rep from *; end last repeat
with k3.
Repeat these four rows until the scarf is the desired length ending with row 4 and bind off loosely. Weave in ends and block.
If you want a wider or narrower scarf, add or remove one or more pattern repeats between the *s, and add or remove 10 stitches from your cast on for each pattern repeat.
ssk: slip, slip, knit slipped stitches together through the back
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
yo: yarnover
p2sso: pass the two slip stitches over the knit stitch. (double decrease)
sl2 knitwise: slip 2 stitches knitwise.
That’s all there is to it. The pattern looks worse than it is and it’s easy to memorize.
